We are actively seeking to immediate fulfilment of the following role:


Lead UX Designer with 6 to 9 years of experience

Primary Responsibility

Providing UX leadership on the overall end to end user experience. This will include workshop facilitation, conducting user research, user requirements gathering and the creation of appropriate documentation – such as information architectures, user journeys, wireframes, estimates, UI designs and prototypes.

Candidates will need to demonstrate experience with;

·         Leading and facilitating discovery workshops with new and existing clients, accommodating divergent views and differing priorities

·         Planning, designing, and conducting user research to focus the design and development on user needs

·         Translating requirements into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and UI designs that lead to intuitive and engaging user experiences

·         Creating eye watering visuals for a wide range of devices and interfaces where appropriate

·         Working closely with project teams to ensure the design and development is aligned with the user experience – realise the vision – throughout the project life cycle

·         Contributing and providing guidance to front-end development teams


·         NOTE: as is common with this type of role, occasional out of hours and remote location working will be required to support high-priority deadlines




·         Candidates are expected to have all the following skills;

·         Good knowledge of qualitative research methods including user requirements gathering and early-stage concept and prototype testing, guerrilla research, and other approaches to ensuring user needs are fully understood

·         Experienced and practiced in the application of user experience design and design thinking (Define, ideate, prototype & test)

·         Expertise with design focused applications and prototyping tools – not limited to but for example: Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, and InVision

·         Exceptional knowledge of HTML and CSS (Semantic and accessible HTML, web standards, CSS pre-processors etc …)

·         Engaging workshop facilitation skills and techniques, an effective communicator with excellent presentational skills

·         Working on multiple projects in parallel within a fast-paced environment

·         Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and excellent time management



·         Candidates are expected to have some of the following skills;

·         Experience in user research and the techniques used to gather, define and understand user needs

·         Experience working in agile, and/or scrum based projects

·         Experience in user centred design and design principles

·         Some experience of working with the UK Government Design System (GDS), its patterns and practices
