Role: Automation Test Engineer 

 

Reports to: Head of Testing 

 

Experience: 4 - 7 years

Candidates will need to demonstrate experience with; 

  • Automation Framework Design and Implementation 
  • Creation of robust Automation Test Plans 
  • Analysis of functional and non-functional use cases, and identification of automation candidates 
  • Design, develop and maintain automated scripts, across multiple projects 
  • Creation of clear, meaningful Test Result Reports 
  • Co-coordination of Test and Development team members to prioritise & resolve issues quickly and effectively 
  • Being highly delivery focused and engaging effectively with all team members to drive projects forwards 

Candidates are expected to have all of the following skills; 

  • Automation experience using Selenium or similar  
  • Strong knowledge of testing theory and understanding of software verification  
  • Excellent communicator, capable of engaging at all levels with customers 
  • Ability to contribute to the Automation Test Strategy, and Tooling Strategy 
  • Create and maintain coding standards for automation, pushing the framework forward and maintaining it over time 
  • Development of Automation Tests which can be maintained and extended by the manual test community. 
  • Ability to develop automated functional tests, which exercise the UI, API and DB layers. 
  • Automation of non-functional tests, including load and security testing. 
  • Test Planning and estimation 
  • Establishing a technical understanding of the system under test 
  • Collaborate with and present improvement and ideas to other members of the test team 

Candidates are expected to have some of the following skills; 

  • Experience in training other team members 
  • Database knowledge like MS SQL 
  • Remote work environment experience

  • ability to work effectively with remote teams in India and the UK 
  • ability to work flexibly to deliver on-time to tight timescales
